Avon's M53 / FM53 mask is nothing short of revolutionary. This NBC CBRN mask is the first choice for most special military operators, SWAT teams and first responders when entering areas with known or unknown chemical or biological contaminates. The AVON FM53 / M53 is like two masks in one due to their unique and patented multi-valve system which can quickly change from positive pressure (PAPR) mode to negative pressure (APR) mode by the quick turn of a valve located on the front of the FM53 / M53 mask. The MF53 / M53 mask uses standard 40mm NATO filters in (APR) mode but can also be equipped with an air tank for PAPR mode during special operations when a filter may not be enough. The FM53 / M53 mask has an accessory jack hookup inside and out for an added speaker (VPU - Voice Projection Unit) or other coms use, and is equipped with a hydration system as well. The FM53 / M53 truly doesn't get any better than this.
